Walter is on a role. According to the 2007 Census of Agriculture, the average age of a Minnesota farmers is 55.3. Farmers are collectively getting older in the state. Previously, the 2002 Census of Agriculture showed the average age was 52.9.

Thanks for all the guesses. Walter was the first to answer correctly. Polk is the top sugarbeet producing county. They harvested 2.5 million tons in 2007. And Emily is right, you can find all sorts of good info in the Ag Stats book.
