The Saint Paul Police Central District’s GRID (Getting Residents Involved Daily) Unit, along with many community partners, invites you to attend the First Annual Rice Street Public Safety Fair. The event will be held on September 26, 2009 at 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM on the Washington Middle School Grounds, 1041 Marion S...treet, Saint Paul, MN 55117. This event is free and open to all members of the public.

At this fair, members of the public, police, and a host of other public safety, governmental and non-governmental agency representatives can interact as friends and neighbors around matters of community importance.

On Thursday, September 24, at 8 AM there will be a pep rally for "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" hosted at the Harriet Island Park Pavilion. This rally will help bring together volunteers who will assist with the building of a new home for a Saint Paul family beginning on October 2. This new home will change the li...fe of a well-deserving family.

The pep rally will be hosted by TJB Homes Inc., a local builder chosen to supervise and execute this intense one-week construction project. At this event, Saint Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, the CEO of TJB Homes Inc., Tom Budzynski, and the executive producer of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," Conrad Rickets, will be present to welcome volunteers and provide information about the upcoming project and how the community can get involved.
