Brann Dailor is the drummer for
Mastodon, an American heavy metal band based in Atlanta, Georgia. His style is very jazzy and prog-rock influenced and has been considered by many to be one of the best and most exciting modern d...rummers. Many describe his style as "organized chaos". His style is polyrhythmic and very fill-heavy, rarely using conventional drumming methods and common rock beats. He has stated in interviews that his favorite albums are Stevie Wonder's Songs in the Key of Life and Genesis' The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway.

Many predict that he will emerge as a premier rock drummer in the next few years, as Mastodon achieves greater mainstream success, and Dave Grohl (ex-Nirvana drummer, Foo Fighters frontman) recently claimed he thought Dailor was the best drummer in the world.

Trystany Capozi’s toy drive isn’t national in scope like the Toys for Tots program: It boils down to an 11-year-old girl and her parents. But last year she put toys in the hands of 1,900 children who might not have had a Christmas with a toy.

Trystany’s To...y Drive started three years ago, when Trystany was a second-grader at Hollyvale Elementary School. After she returned to school from the Christmas holiday, she discovered some of her classmates hadn’t received gifts over the vacation; their families were struggling too much to buy any. Trystany went home and gathered up the toys she’d received that Christmas and gave them to her friends. The next year, Trystany’s Toy Drive began and provided toys to 98 families. (Gramavision); and Yvonne Jackson's I'm Trouble (Enja/Blues Beacon).

In the past two years Jim has concentrated on playing, writing and touring with his own band, The Jim Payne Band, a funky organ trio, with Jerrry Z on organ and Bill Bickford on guitar. They have played several US tours and are a staple on the NYC club scene. Jim's first record, Sensei, reached #33 on the jazz charts. He is also very busy teaching in his NYC studio.
