Turns
out there's an excellent reason I couldn't find anything on the Duke
University site about Chip's speaking engagement next week.
Because it's at North Carolina State University. :-)

Ric Best Finally purchased my copy of The Polymath!!! It is available now !!! Go get it haha

Bob R. Patterson Read Dhalgren for the first time when I was 21 (Don' EVEN ask how long ago that was) and have re-read it on an almost annual basis ever since. Each reading I discover more complexities and make more connections. It was a major influence on how I saw the world...and still is.

Wolfgang Brunner I just read "Äquinoktium" a third time and... it is great, as all novels of Delaney.

Hello All,
Hope your summer is going well! Just a note to let everyone know that Fred Barney Taylor's movie "The Polymath, Or The Life And Opinions Of Samuel R. Delany, Gentleman" is finally being released to independent bookstores on September 15th!!
Great news for a great movie!!
Ric

Gerald Jonas I'm trying to get in email touch with chip.

Gudrun Winkelhausen Just read the Einstein Intersection again and became part of another world for a while...

Thomas Lahomme Delany is one of the true gods of Science Fiction. His novels have always made me see reality in a different way. He is a master of the impressionistic imagist line and brilliantly combines semiotics with the conventions of SF and Fantasy to give us intreging perspectives on society, perception, and the human condition. Plus he likes Space Opera and Sword & Sorcery!

I'm happy to have found this place. Years ago (1986) Mr. Delany requested people to submit corrections to the text of "Dhalgren." Well, I found his phone# and actually called him (try doing that nowdays). I told him of 3 miscues that I had found, and he graciously informed me that perhaps one of these was read out of... context. I thanked him for his time and hung up. Imagine my surprise when, two days later, my phone rings, and it's Samuel Delany calling to tell me that the one that we disputed was a textual mistake that had been completely overlooked. A couple of weeks later, I received in the mail signed copies of the first three "Neveryon" books, all inscribed to me. The amazing thing is that the first one had been gone through with white-out and ballpoint pen, correcting all typos and mistakes. I cannot begin to express my feelings, which transcend time, for I only have to open the book to recover that initial sense of joy.Read More

A reading coming up:http://www.kgbfantasticfiction.org/?p=25 0

Josh Sebrasky chip comes into where i work all the time (giovanni's room in philadelphia) and he is the kindest person one could ever hope to meet. most probably wouldn't guess that by reading Hogg... it's been an honor getting a chance to chat with him periodically.

Adriano Shaplin was happy to stand in a tiny, sweltering room in Brooklyn and see the 1st ever documentary about Samuel R. Delany, listen to an inspiring Q&A and get my favorite novel signed by the man himself. We love you Chip.
