S.A. Thunder Squirt 'B' Team Goes Pink Their Opening Weekend In Dallas
In an effort to teach our children the importance of addressing social issues through sports the Squirt 'B' Team decided to celebrate the start of their 2009-10 hockey season in Dallas this past weekend by building upon the National Hockey League's i...nitiative "October is Hockey Fights Cancer Awareness Month" as well as to honor one of our own hockey moms who is a breast cancer survivor. An illness which unfortunately has impacted us all to some degree. On Sunday, October 18th, kids and parents both wore as much pink as possible. The Squirt B team donned pink breast cancer ribbons on their helmets, pink shoe laces, pink bandannas and taped their sticks with pink tape. The weekend was a huge 'PINK' success as our kids not only stood out for their play on the ice but for their effort to help raise breast cancer awareness.Read More
