"Lost Souls: Found! Inspiring Stories About Dachshunds" Excerpt: "As I reentered the kitchen, I saw everyone huddled around Wilbur, just staring at him. It turns out he found a 6-pack of Jell-O® in the back of the fridge, climbed in, and pulled out the treasure. ...

Chris Blount I would like to share a word of warning to all Dachshund owners. Never ignore the warning signs of a terrible condition called HGE (Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis). It can strike at any time with no warning. If immediate vet care is not given, your beloved Dachshund will pass within 24 hours. It's common in small breed do...gs. One of our doxies came down with this over the weekend and luckily we got her in on time. Google this condition and learn the warning signs. It could save your dogs life!

I saw 2 dachshunds are held at Bandera County Animal Control website http://www.banderacountyac.org/departmen ts/AnimalCare.htm.
I am not sure they are still there or rescued since last update was on
17 Nov. If they have not rescued or adopted, is it possible to pull
them out?

Kaaz had a little misadventure recently, involving kidney
stones! He ended up at the emergency vet clinic for days - had surgery - on
IV's. Very sick little doggie. He's now recovering from his surgery and will
need to be kept on a special diet to reduce the chance of this happening again
in his future. If you can help... in any way, please donate to his huge vet bill of
OVER $3,000.00!! We are a small rescue funded entirely by donations and kindness
of volunteers and public! So coming up with that kind of money for one surgery
is next to impossible without YOUR help!

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas We got all fancy and added the calendars for sale on the DDRTX website!

Shasta
is a pretty girl! if you are searching for an older, calmer, and gentler little
lady, look no further! Shasta is a red piebald short haired cutie, with a funny
cow-lick on the back of her neck. She is about 6 to 8 years of age, hard to tell
based on her teeth, which were in awful condition, causing her to lose m...ost of
them. Shasta will be fine on canned food, as she only has 8 teeth left! A tiny
little munchkin girl with spunky personality and eagerness to be "with" her
people as much as possible, she only weighs 6.5 pounds! So get a carrying sling
and bring her with you everywhere you go! She'll love it because she can meet
people, give kisses and be with you all the time! An older, calmer home would be
great for Shasta, she's good with older kids and most other dogs, but really she
prefers to be the little well loved and spoiled princess!
