Iva Just thought I'd ask everyone how long it lasts in your case? In my case, it can be up to 15 days.

let me put it this way for me when I'm having a good month I can have up to 2 weeks of relief but when I'm having a bad month I only have 1 1/2 good weeks out of the month. It really varies between the individuals and if your taking any meds to help you with your symptoms.

for at least 2 weeks and the remainder of the month is spent in regret and sadness over what previously went on, so, I would say, it was constant with me. It only became even more clearer when I started taking Fluoxetine and the relief was instant. I couldn't quite believe it, so I feel the same now all the time - balanced and normal. It is such a relief and I pray to God it continues!

Try Fluoxetine. Might work. I SO wish now I tried it years ago. Can't believe I suffered for so long and missed out on enjoying so many things in my life. Feel quite sad about that. Intend to enjoy every moment now and build some bridges.

Farrah Matthews

Farrah Matthews I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy on Dec 1. I am optimistic that the surgery will be successful in treating this monster that visits me every month. My dad is not supportive of my decision and is comparing my choice to have a hysterectomy on the same level as having an abortion. Not sure how to respectfully resp...ond to his ignorant comment. Suggestions? BTW, my dad is 70, and his opinion will always matter to me, even if he doesn't have a clue about this subject.

Thank you Cat. Yes, I heard about this bloke and spoke to a woman on another forum, who was treated by him and it changed her life! Hope it works for you. Do you have any other conditions?

Life w/ PMDD
When I finally, finally get it, it comes quickly, sweetly. It begins when I see that I have been given the gift of mourning for myself physically. This is not something I viewed as a gift until now and is certainly not something everyone experiences...

I don't even have kids and I don't think I can. I can't keep my moods balanced enought to do so. I would be too afraid that I might hurt them. I had a mental break down tonight. I can't take much more.

Natalia Clarke

Natalia Clarke does anyone know is Yaz is available in the UK now? It seems like another option for PMDD and endo. Appreciate anyone getting back to me with an answer. Can't seem to find this info anywhere, which makes me think, perhaps, it is not available? I plucked up the courage finally after many years to go to my GP with this a...nd need to decide whether to ask for Yaz or Sarafem. Thank you ladies!

Yaz did not work for me. Once I started taking it all my symtoms came back full force. I have been on Zoloft for over a year now and I think it is time for me to change up my Meds. My mood swings are starting to come back. This month has been the worst I have felt in a long time. I had a break down last night. I am so frustrated.

Over a year is a long time, so it is good that it worked for you for that long. I would say, switch to another one and hope it works again! On Fluoxetine and the doctor said I should stay on it every day till at least summer. I wouldn't mind taking this for the rest of my life, as long as I don't have PMDD back ever again. Lost too much of my life to this illness already. So SAD.
