A DYING OAK TREE GETS NEW LIFE IN PUBLIC ART!
Through the help of the City of San Antonio’s Parks and Recreation department, a very large old oak tree in Brackenridge Park is being reclaimed and incorporated into a Public Art piece titled ‘Glorieta’, by PASA artist Anne Wallace. This "garden courtyard within a park" f...eatures concentric circles of Mountain Laurel, Maple and Redbud trees that surround a series of cast bronze tree slices, which are flanked by arrangements of actual tree slices taken from fallen trees from the park.

Currently an expanse of open field and cedar forests, the new library will incorporate aspects of its natural surroundings, and specialized wood pieces by Peter Zubiate.
