Regalo Gift Shop and Botanica-Museo Alameda Regalo Gift Shop and Botanica presents A Night With the Artist Featuring Jorge Puron

Art is a subconscious passage achieved through the experience of the human condition. This process culminates with the manifestation of a physical reality.

My work is the result of a subconscious force driven by internal feelings and te...mperaments mixed with outer world experiences. My creativity is fed by remaining true to my instincts, through the complexity of personal self discovery, and with the general exploration of the affective world. Thus, my art conveys an emotional intensity infused in color and form.

Regalo Gift Shop and Botanica-Museo Alameda

Regalo Gift Shop and Botanica-Museo Alameda In Celebration of Diabetes Awareness Month!

Forgotten Children: A True Story of How Politicians Endanger Children relates true events of a conflict between two forces working in opposite directions in the fight agains diabetes. One force is trying to provide children with an evidence-based program shown to decrease bloo...d sugar, and another force is trying to keep children away from the effective program. The story in this book details the battle between science and politics; and about little people taking on giants. The reader will be taken on a roller coaster ride where science and politics take turns winning and losing. You will cheer for Dr. Treviño as he takes you through a modern day David and Goliath struggle. To promote and deliver school health programs to children, his small non-profit research center is pitted against Texas’ largest health and education bureaucracies.

Regalo Gift Shop and Botanica-Museo Alameda The Museo Alameda's Regalo Gift Shop and Botánica invites you to a signing and reading of Ward Albro's The Day of the Dead/Dia de los Muertos. Since 1993, photographer Denis Defibaugh and author Ward Albro have visited the festivals, both in Oaxaca City and in the smaller villages, where customs marking this passage h...ave evolved over generations. They have been welcomed into people’s homes and have taken part in the public festivals. In this beautiful book, Defibaugh’s photography catches the essence of the people and their celebration, while Albro’s text supplies background understanding of the beliefs and practices of the observance. The Day of the Dead book expresses the joy, sorrow, and ritual of the many public celebrations of the festival. Defibaugh’s quiet, subtle perceptions distinguish his photographic vision. Albro’s illuminating personal essay introduces the Muertos culture of the people of Oaxaca.
