Jason Kendig's Departure +
3 Hour Final San Francisco Set
This week we celebrate Jason Kendig's departure from the San Francisco hive as he moves east to build a new dream. Jason ...moved to San Francisco some time ago as an accomplished Detroit discaire associated with the Family parties. Jason established his reputation in San Francisco playing for The House of More!, Fork, and countless others, always bringing a nuanced ear for everything from the latest Berghain bangers to rare Italo.
The Honey boys took notice and Jason became the third member of the fledgling DJ collective in early 2007. He is moving to Denver to establish a new home base with partner Andy Butler. Look for this dynamic duo on tour with Hercules and Love Affair, and in your favorite record store as they launch MR. INTL records.
Please join us on the dance floor as Mr. Kendig serves you some peak set reality along with first time up in pumps host with the most Ryan Smith from Rocket NYC.Read More

Funkentanzen presents Burnski
Burnski (Poker Flat/Dessous)
Burnski is an exciting, young artist for whom the future holds untold possibilities. By night, he holds down a DJ residency at one of the UK’s outstanding club nights and by day, he is a tireless and imaginative producer who, each day, rarely misses as an opportu...nity to experiment with sounds from his subterranean studio bunker in the north of England.
Laying down a marker from his very first release back in 2005 on the highly respected Trapez label, Burnski has continually upped his game and is now a regular contributor on Morris/Audio, 2020 Vision and, most recently, delivering a succession of highly rated offerings on sister labels Poker Flat and Dessous.
The latter half of 2009 will seen several prime time remixes emerge from the Burnski production house, for Immigrant Records, Poker Flat and on Milton Jackson’s emerging Dark Energy label. On top of this, the next batch of eagerly awaited releases include ‘Old School Swing’ on Plastic City, and his follow-up EP for Dessous ‘The Light’, which is slated for an autumn release.
As a DJ, Burnski is a steadfast vinyl advocate always armed with a bag of fresh music. His sets are intuitive and trained by the versatility of his residency at Leeds’ legendary Back to Basics, whose hedonistic and party-centric crowd are used to receiving the world’s best underground DJ’s on a weekly basis. Switching from warm deep house to groovy peak time techno, he is capable of showcasing a wide variation of sounds across the spectrum from jazz, disco, electro, dub, house, minimal and techno - a style now familiar to some of some of the most established clubs in Europe such as Fabric, Watergate in Berlin, The Loft, Barcelona as well a particularly memorable rooftop DJ set in the skies above Beirut.
The event also features DJ's:

Cressida
Following that credo, German producer Matthias Baumann was instantly amazed, as he - at a very young age in front of a piano – discovered, that only three little notes, put together in the right direction and played with a certain sound, are... sufficient to evoke emotions. Even more, those same notes could trigger different emotions in different people, depending on so many different factors.
Take this still existing childlike exaltation, add a never ending curiousness for diverse and unique sounds and musical styles, mash it up with a distinct fondness for groove in every sense, and you got Cressida. This progressive trance act was launched in 2005 by Matthias together with Roland Geringer, who shared the same musical background the same passion for EDM back then. Working together for almost three years and gaining instant recognition for their tracks and remixes, the project Cressida never stopped growing and so did the list of labels they worked for, including Lost Language, Baroque Records, Afterglow, Ava Recordings, Somatic Sense, Alter Ego Records and Enhanced Records, only to name a few.
Run by Matthias alone since early 2008, that year marked the most successful for Cressida. The track “6AM” on the well established German label “Euphonic Records” hit the nail on the head with its beautiful melody and the amazing club interpretation by Euphonic label owners Kyau & Albert. The track still holds the record as highest charting trancetrack and was the best selling trance single of the year 2008 on www.beatport.com . It also got nominated for a beatport award and was featured on the well-known compilation “In search of sunrise” by Dj Tiesto.
The follow up EP to 6AM, called “Never Mind / Onyric”, has just been picked up by Armin van Buuren & Above & Beyond and will see the light of day on March 17, also on the Euphonic imprint. Backed up with remixes by Stoneface & Terminal and Sebastian Sand, this release is on the verge of becoming the next clubsensation for 2009. Keep your ears peeled for the Cressida - Sound, as you..re about to hear a lot more in the future!
