Master Gardener and Master Composter Ian Gerbode will cover the basic principles of composting: what goes in, what does not, where to locate the bin, what types of bins are available to purchase, or how to make your own compost bin. Also learn how to manage a compost pile once it is established and how to use the com...post in your home garden. The free workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at MAEP's Erikson Adult Center.

MetroED won an Award of Excellence in Multimedia Communication from the CalSPRA 2009 Excellence in Communication Contest for our DVD titled "What is Career Technical Education at CCOC."

The 10 minute DVD was filmed and produced by CCOC's Video Production class and instructor Jeff Schmidt at the request of State Senato...r Tom Torlakson. The Senator played the video across the state and in front of the Senate.Read More

Fall 2009 Online registration (www.MetroED.net) begins August 3rd for MAEP's Community Interest Program (CIP) and Older Adult Program. MAEP also offers courses for ESL, GED, CTE, and HS Diploma as well as over 300+ online courses.

Registration for CCOC's day classes begins August 12 at 9 am and at 5 pm for evening clas...ses (760 Hillsdale Ave., San Jose). Day classes are open to HS students first and then adults.Read More

Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) Central County Occupational Center (CCOC) will host the Third Annual Public Safety Completer Ceremony on June 4, at 5:30 p.m. at 760 Hillsdale Ave, San Jose in the auditorium. The ceremony recognizes more than 100 students that have completed CCOC’s Law Enforcement or Fire Science/First Responder programs.

Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) The Metropolitan Adult Education Program (MAEP) will hold its annual high school graduation on June 17, at 6 p.m. at the Metropolitan Education District campus located at 760 Hillsdale Avenue, San Jose.

The adult graduation ceremony will feature a guest speakers, student speakers, music by the San Jose Metropolitan Band, and a color guard presentation by the United States Marine Corps.
