Sandbox will be one of several acts playing at the CD Release Party for the "Have A Holly Raleigh KIDSmas" benefit CD at Raleigh's Marbles Kids Museum, happening downtown right after the Christmas Parade!, Saturday November 21st from 11-2!
Our new holiday song, "Two More Days Til Christmas" will be released on this year...'s compilation CD!
Since 2006, the Have a Holly Raleigh Christmas compilation CD has been a great way to raise money for local charities while simultaneously building community and promoting local music.
Our relationship with the Community Music School began in 2007, and has proven to be a perfect fit for the CD project. So we proudly continue our work to benefit the music-loving kids at CMS for this year and beyond.
Participating artists have found the project to be a rewarding experience; keeping the city vibrant while sowing the seeds of our future cultural community. The arts are, after all, key to what makes any city a desirable place to live. And while the CD project is fun, it is also a lot of hard work. Our staff is made up entirely of volunteers who generously donate hundreds of hours each year. The Sir Walter label does not profit from the sale or manufacturing of these discs.
Everyone loves music, so we are fortunate to live in such a musically rich area. And while there will be some familiar sounds, there is always something new to discover. We want to nurture, preserve and protect this aspect of our city. The music you find on each volume of Have a Holly Raleigh Christmas is as diverse as the community in the Raleigh, NC and surrounding areas.

Our day long, free festival features music at various indoor and outdoor venues. The outdoor sites present music until dark, while some of the indoor venues go well into the evening.
The 2009 event will present a myriad of musical styles (at 24 venues) with over 160 different musical aggregations- ranging in size from solo artists to a seventeen piece jazz orchestra.
