Dan Milholland, the lead instructor, will be joined by David Phillips, experienced trainer and certifier. You will learn how to test HEPA filters in cleanrooms, laminar flow benches, and HVAC systems in accordance with the standards listed below.

Instructors
Dan Milholland is the lead instructor. He has worked in the cleanroom testing and verification field since 1975. Dan has served on many IEST committees, including the working group that prepared Federal Standard 209E and ISO 14644-1. He is currently serving as a consultant to the cleanroom industry. Dan will be joined by David Phillips, Thermo Fisher Scientific; and additional instructors including: David Stuart, Ph.D., The Baker Company; Gene Klingbeil, Filtration Group; Lewis Exner, Micro-Clean, Inc; as well as a representative from Air Techniques.

In this one-day class, participants will learn about major laboratory HVAC energy conservation techniques and how they may impact health and safety. After different approaches are described, attendees will participate in exercises for different lab HVAC scenarios to be...tter understand the energy and health and safety balance.

Dan Ghidoni is a C.I.H. and P.E. He is a Sales Engineer with Northeast Scientific Associates. Pam Greenley is a C.I.H. and Deputy Director of the Industrial Hygiene Program for M.I.T. Tom Stella is a mechanical engineer with WSP Flack + Kurtz and works in their lab HVAC specialty group.

This half-day workshop will expand on the knowledge gained from our Safety Cabinet Technology course by reinforcing the information with additional hands-on practice. Participants will have the opportunity to perform airflow and HEPA leak tests as outlined by NSF/ANSI 49. In addition, they will be instructed in balanci...ng cabinets, repairing leaks, and troubleshooting techniques.

Prerequisites
Participants must have taken Eagleson Institute’s Safety Cabinet Technology Seminar.
Instructors
Ron Gingras, Engineering Technician, The Baker Company, is the lead instructor. Ron is an NSF accredited certifier, and will be joined by other Eagleson Institute instructors who are NSF accredited certifiers.

This half-day workshop will provide an overview of the ANSI/ ASHRAE Standard 110-1995, Method for Testing Performance of Laboratory Fume hoods. This standard uses airflow measurements, qualitative smoke studies, and quantitative tracer gas procedures to provide a hood performance rating. Instrumentation, apparatus requ...irements, practical considerations and reporting results will all be discussed. An ASHRAE 110 test will be performed in a demonstration laboratory.
