Painful run today. While 2000ft. of climbing yesterday was fun; 2000ft of downhill took a major toll on my hips, legs, IT bands, knees, and the list goes on...

Haven't done that since college. Ouch. Avg. 9.6% grade and up to 16%; 2,000ft. climb Beautiful up top and completely worth it. Like a surfer on a secret wave for 10+ years, it's great to see Sierra Road get international cred thanks to the Tour of California.

Talked retirement, the family in Portugal, and outrageous health insurance costs. Visited the elementary school, middle school and high school. Nice new sports facilities at Piedmont Hills. Sweet.

Spreading the good word for SLO Parks & Rec Department thanks to Running Warehouse. Also a huge thanks to Denise at Granada Bristro for delicious Cubano Panini and conversation on cycling across America while impacting local communities and their charities. If you're ...in SLO and you like to eat you need to put Granada on your must stop at list: http://www.yelp.com/biz/granada-san-luis-obispo

Your activity & rain + Billy Idol's Dancing with Myself tune (e.g. I'm running in the rain...) = getting through a nice rainy Friday. If that doesn't get you through Friday then watch this monkey on ice skates: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOj_QoSH6is

Beat SoCal traffic by not driving in it. Met up with Berko and the Fluffy Bunny crew instead for a run. Well, I missed the run, but not the food and drinks. Missed my shoes too...thankfully Santa Monica has a whole lot of nice grass.

Great brainstorming with Lorrie on Kickabout. People doing good and powerful things for communities around the world = awesome.

Keeping Rylee healthy and my mind fresh.

Evening run on the bluff tops. Long two days of finishing up some projects. Nothing better than a good run. GPS watch wasn't reset from previous run :( Sorry BAWSI

Supporting Rachel's Hula group. A lot of people came out to see 60 groups, schools, floats, and the always kid favorite fire trucks.

Great ride with Garza from Blazing Saddles. Tried out their Kestrel to get my feet wet in this whole cycling thing.

Not exactly sure where we were. Rachel was nice enough to trust me and keep going toward somewhere...

Easy run in Goleta via Cathedral Oaks and up Glen Annie. Still feel like I have a very congested chest. Can't shake it...maybe it was just too much Turkey?

May have been the first time since college running with VG. Gans and I headed out early to meet up for what of course was a VG hilly run in Thousand Oaks. Getting ready for the alumni 5k challenge in January.

Headed out on the beach...how romantic. Good running w/Gans again out in Goleta. Five fingers were not good to me on the rocks toward the end of the beach.

Windy, windy, windy. Nice to have it against our backs on the return. Great group on this colder evening and it was nice meeting more of the crew over some ice cold "drinks."

Beautiful SF morning. You can't be the Northern California coast line. Thanks for the couch and run Mr. Service

Getting in some ocean air...

I don't understand how Jose can still go out and crank it out after only running a few miles here and there over the last couple years. Amazing. Great talking about at-risk youth, fitness, and life in general.

Great catching up with Carlos on the Los Gatos Creek trail. An easy 6-7 became 9, but we were inspired by all the women running/pushing strollers with with one and sometimes two kids. Made us look like chumps. Also, thanks Running Revolution for providing the water and Cytomax...I needed it.
