Pasatiempo was designed by world-renowned golf architect Alister MacKenzie. Even though MacKenzie also designed Augusta National and Cypress Point, Pasatiempo was his favorite layout and where he made his American home.

Pasatiempo Golf Club Congratulations to the Pasatiempo mens golf teams for its first place finish in the annual MacKenzie Cup held this week at Crystal Downs Golf Club in Michigan. Pasatiempo and the Meadow Club tied for first with 289 points, beating teams from Cypress Point, Royal Melbourne, Lahinch and other MacKenzie designed courses around the world. Next year, the competition moves to Cork Golf Club in Ireland.
Pasatiempo Golf Club Congratulations to Juli Inkster and the American women, who defeated Europe this past weekend to bring home the Solheim Cup 16-12. Juli, at 49 the oldest competitor in Solheim Cup history, won a foursomes match the first day teamed with Paula Creamer, and came back to halve her singles match on the final day. Her performance brings her career Solheim Cup points total to 18, the most in Solheim Cup history.

I was lucky enough to grow up in the Santa Cruz area and spent many a day in my younger life walking the splendid fairways of Pasatiempo. Back then, the course was really a bit of a guarded secret and I could play all day for about $40. Needless to say, this is one of the favorite courses I've ever played (and I've p...layed some of the most exclusive ones in the area - including San Francisco Golf Club, Olympic, Spyglass, Pebble, Lake Merced, etc.). Bring your "A" game if you want to have any real chance at playing near your handicap (being able to work iron shots in both directions would help a lot!). Also, take your time the day you get to play such a wonderful track and soak in the ambiance of the place. It's a terrific escape from the outside world and some of my best golf memories have taken place at Pasatiempo.Read More
Pasatiempo Golf Club Congratulations to Pasatiempo's own Juli Inkster for her selection onto the 2009 U.S. Women's Solheim Cup team...the U.S. plays Europe at Rich Harvest Farms in Illinois August 21-23. Juli is one of the most successful golfers in Solheim Cup history, and she enters the match tied with Meg Mallon for the most points ever won in the Solheim Cup by an American. Good luck Juli!

You gotta keep playin

You may be dirty smelly and wet,
