Santa Cruz Hostel Human Race Walkathon - Greetings from the Santa Cruz Hostel. We are calling upon our friends in the community to participant in and/or support us in this year's Human Race, which is being held on Saturday, May 9th, 2009.

The Human Race is a nationwide community fundraising event for nonprofit organizations, schools, an...d faith based organizations. The Human Race is the Central Coast's largest collaborative community fundraiser, and features a walkathon and fun run beginning at Natural Bridges State Park and winding along one of our most beautiful natural resources – West Cliff Drive. Organizations and businesses recruit walkers/runners/ pledge-gatherers to raise funds. Participating nonprofit organizations receive at least 75% of monies collected and the Volunteer Center receives the remaining percentage to coordinate and stage the event.

The Santa Cruz Hostel is a non-profit organization occupying the Carmelita Cottages on Beach Hill in Santa Cruz. By providing travelers with affordable, clean, safe and shared accomodations the Santa Cruz Hostel promotes personal growth, self-reliance and cultural awareness. Our goal is to bring the world together and bulid global understanding through hosteling. You can help support our mission and our efforts by participating in the Human Race, donating your time to support our walkers and runners, pledging a financial contribution or by simply raising awareness in the community. Together we can make a difference.

Thank you.
