Yogaglo is very excited to begin collaboration with the brilliant and charismatic Abby Wills - Shanti Generation, Youth Peacemakers Training 2010. A community effort to cultivate conscious youth leaders skilled in the engagement of diversity and the development of social, emotional and ecological wellness. Shanti Gene...ration Youth Peacemakers Training is a 12-month, 72-hour course for adolescent youth between 12-16 years of age. Youth progress through the training in cohort groups of sixteen people. In monthly, six-hour workshops, youth cohorts engage in peacemaking practices including:
• Yoga
• Compassionate Communication
• Mindful Awareness Training
• Peer Teaching Techniques
• Conscious Social Action
Facilitators
The lead facilitator of the program is Abby Wills, MA, ERYT. Each month, expert guest facilitators and speakers will present workshops in the fields of social, emotional and ecological intelligences, neuroscience, yogic disciplines, social justice, nutrition and community organizing. Thus far, the following guest teachers have been selected:
• Hala Khouri, MA- co-founder Off the Mat, Into the World
• Felicia Tomasko, RN- editor, LA Yoga Magazine
• Dr. Christopher Key Chapple – Professor, Loyola Marymount University
