Town Hall Event in New York City! Sponsored by NAPO (National Assoc of Professional Organizers).
Sari will bring together in a town hall format, women with ADD, mental health pros, coaches and professional organizers from all over the region. Following her presentation on the Inner World of Women with ADD, Sari will fa...cilitate a discussion in which these women can explore and explain their challenges to the professionals who want to increase their understanding and effectiveness.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS: 10/31/09.
This four part seminar will include:
• Presentation and discussion by Solden on what happens when executive function challenges of AD/HD meet gender role expectations of women. Topics include shame, avoidance, impact on mood, relationships and achievement. Emphasis will be on appreciating and understanding the complex interplay of emotional, cognitive, and cultural factors at work in the lives of women with AD/HD.
• A structured facilitated dialogue by Solden that includes women with AD/HD and the professionals who work with them.
• Structured small group discussions to discuss and share experiences.
• Book signing and networking.

In this one-hour presentation and Q & A session, Sari discusses her perspective o...n how adults with the differences and challenges, and strengths that often accompany adult ADHD, can move toward developing a fulfilling life.
She will explore the importance of managing your inner narrative by beginning to tell yourself a new story about yourself. Her underlying message is that when you accept the struggle instead of fighting against it, you conserve your energy. This allows you to more easily release your natural abilities and move in the direction of your values to create a meaningful life.

Sari Solden Just got back from a ten day trip. Learned alot about the importance of having the right expectations. When you have differences like ADD or other invisible ways that make it difficult to fit in, you can't wait for perfect understanding to form relationships. Family and friends may not "get" you perfectly but you can g...et more of what you need if you change your expectations instead of being constantly dissapointed!
