SAULT STE. MARIE - Lake Superior State defeated Northern Michigan 6-3 to record its second Central Collegiate Hockey Association sweep in as many weeks and move up to fifth place in the league standings heading intothe holiday break.

The venerable Ronald "Bud" Cooper, longtime LSSU Athletics director, coach, benefactor and much more, died Nov. 29. He was 80.
Bud was a familiar face to many around campus and in the community, as he continued to work to promote the university he loved for many years in retirement. He organized golf tournaments and spe...cial events and served on the LSSU Athletic Hall of Fame steering and selection committee.
