1 How lovely is your dwelling place,
O Lord of hosts!

I'm not sure if the youth that participated in Youth Surge Week have heard the sad news yet, and I'm sure this isn't the best way to share it. I apologize for that. Reverend Lester Bowers passed away suddenly on August 25th. There are multiple articles online if you google his name. While reading other articles, your f...acebook site came up on a search. This link is an article about his service last Friday: http://www.bviplatinum.com/news.php?section=article&source=1252088857. Please keep his family in your prayers. Thank you, AnneRead More

Thanks for letting us know, Anne. In fact, we didn't know that our friend had passed away - we had seen him only a few weeks before at Lake Junaluska, where he had been an inspiring and challenging speaker at the youth event. We came to admire and appreciate Rev. Bowers so much - it is so hard to believe that a man with that much passion for the ... Read MoreLord, full of energy and life, would be gone so quickly. But it is a comfort to know he is where any believer would want to be - in the arms of Jesus. We will pray for his family. Again, thank you for letting us know. Blessings to you.

I used to work for Lester when he was the Minister of Evangelism at Glenn Memorial UMC in Atlanta and he has been a good friend of mine ever since. During December when the youth he ministered to are home from college, I am organizing an event to make two scrapbooks. One for his wife and two children and another one for his mother. I will keep you ... Read Moreall posted. It would be wonderful if your youth group could make a few pages with pictures and memories that we could add to these two scrapbooks. If you know of any other youth groups that were at the retreat that would like to send something as well please have them contact me through facebook. Thank you.
