The California Department of Parks and Recreation today announced that in just a few days, parks across the state will reduce service and adopt other cost-saving measures in order to meet budget cuts. Beginning Nov. 1, all 279 parks will adopt some sort of cost-saving measure.

The Budget cuts to the Department of Parks & Recreation are resulting in severe cutbacks to maintenance of California's 279 state parks. According to this article, all seasonal park aides (including seasonal lifeguards) in the Channel Coast district are being eliminated from beaches, campgrounds and other state facilit...ies.
