The past weekends trip was a little different to most other Big Cat Trips, Divers got to spend Friday night in their own comfy beds before waking up extra early to board the Big Cat on Saturday. On Saturday we dived Kim's Castle, Middle Mountain and Flinders Mooring #4. Divers were excited to see the great sights of Moreton bay above and below the water.
A special treat for our divers were the Humpback whales passing close by the boat. We even got to hear them singing on the dives. Unfortunately none of them came close enough for us to see on the dives.
Saturday night with the skies growing dark saw our divers venture into water even “fresher” water than during the day. With encouragement to “look at the details” and “think warm thoughts” Flinders at night was enjoyed by all.

Sunday saw us on the Cementco. With student divers experiencing their first deep dive, while other divers probed the mysteries of the sunken wreck, including spotting a mammoth groper in the engine room. We finished of Sunday with dives on Purple Patch and Mary's Land (we were even lucky enough to have Mary with us!)
Divers eventually left the boat (some didn't want to go, with claims of quarantining for swine flu circulating). We didn't want you to go either but we hope to see you back soon with us diving the ever spectacular Moreton Bay.

Big Cat Reality Ian R's weekend Dive Report 16/17 May. "A magic Weekend!" We dived Cherubs Cave and the Henderson Shoal area on Sat then moved north of Flinders and dived Gotham City and Cementco & Smiths Rock on Sun. 35M+ Vis on gotham and no current. Great bunch of divers on board and all captured by underwater videographer - Josh.

Last weekend saw Big Cat venture out once again to the fabulous Moreton Bay for a weekend of fun and diving.
Saturday morning began with dives at the stunning Middle mountain, Charlie’s chapel, and Brianna’s balcony. After 3 beautiful dives with plenty of beautiful corals and creatures to see, Big Cat moved over to mooring 2 at Flinders to complete the day. Scores of playful turtles were seen, and happy divers returned to the boat after a day of not only great viz and diving, but a day of beautiful water temperature, with the temperature over the weekend averaging a lovely 24 degrees.

Sunday began with a deep dive at Gotham City, where the viz was pushing 25m plus. As the story goes, a number of divers spotted a tiger shark, cruizing by in the distance! After a few detours due to an unruly current, the weekend ended with dives at mooring 5 at the ever spectacular Flinders reef. Divers left the boat on Sunday night, tired but happy after a weekend of always spectacular diving at the variety of sites Moreton Bay has to offer.
Congratulations to the newly certified Advanced Adventurer, Nitrox and Deep divers from Pro Dive. Hope to see you all out again soon!

Neil Well, well, well didn’t that weekend turn out just fine! Captain John cast a bit of his magic and got us to Gotham City and the Cementco! Thanks to Gold Coast Dives and Banana Coast Divers for making such a great weekend. See you all again soon.
Craig Watson Migaloo wasn't out there this weekend but a lot of his mates where. On one dive two Humpbacks cruised past only 20-30 metres away from some of our divers bubbles. Unfortunatly the viz didnt quite stretch that far. The dives where fantastic though, Cherubs Cave had the resident Grouper have a real close encounter with some divers, there where lots of Grey Nurse sharks both there and at the Pinnacles. Laurie land didn't disappoint with a Manta ray and big turtles. Surface intervals where great with home made soup and the ability to be warm and dry between dives. This time of year is definitly worth the effort to get out to some awsome sites and see magnificent humpbacks and dive with Grey Nurse. Two for the price of one!!
