Durham Public Schools held a competition among its 45 schools to see which could conserve the most energy and save the most cash. Overall, 13 schools saved nearly $100,000 in energy costs last year. Rory asks "My district has been buying ceiling mounted projectors for some time now. We have over a hundred installed. We install them through maintenance using a piece of white painted plywood and then chain off similarly to the light trouffers.Now, bulbs are going and filters need cleaning. Has anyone seen the pros and cons of moving away from hard copies to wireless for opening and closing work orders?"

U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Steven Chu announced up to $338 million in Recovery Act funding for the exploration and development of new geothermal fields and research into advanced geothermal technologies. These grants will support 123 projects in 39 states, with recipients including private industry, academic ……institutions, tribal entities, local governments, and DOE’s National Laboratories.
