Scott Sawyer ...genre-busting guitar.

Just received the recently re-released on CD (Raven) "Live at Bill Graham's Fillmore West 1969, Michael Bloomfield with Nick Gravenites and friends" (including Taj Mal and Al Kooper).

I purchased the LP circa 1975, sadly it went awol years ago. The CD includes all but one of the remaining tunes from the show ("Wintry Country Side) that were originally released on the original LP and Nick Gravenite's "My Labors" (Columbia chose to spread it out rather than do a double LP)...as well as the bonus track “Mary Ann” (with Al Kooper).

For me, this is “desert island material”: any fan of the blues/blues guitar should give this a serious listen. Upon re-visiting it in it's entirety earlier today, I was reminded at how profoundly this recording affected me years ago. ... Read More... Read More

Bloomfield was absolutely on fire during this show – STELLAR -- he and Gravenites go together like beans and cornbread...it does not get any better. Just my opinion.
