The occasion was Stewardship Sunday, and so his words turned to the ...ministry of Pinnacle Presbyterian in 2010. Turbulent times buffet us, disrupting our hopes, aspirations, and lives, leaving us feeling confused, inadequate, powerless, overwhelmed, and often, frustrated and angry. The Presbyterian Church (USA) has responded by offering a message of hope for this fearful time by adopting The Social Creed for the 21st Century. Dr.... Chris Iosso will discuss the origins, development, and meaning of the Creed in the inaugural presentation of the Pinnacle Theological Center’s 2009–10 program on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. in the Chapel.
Dr. Iosso played an instrumental role in bringing the Social Creed to fruition as Coordinator, Presbyterian Advisory Committee on Social Witness Policy. Previously Chris served as pastor of Scarborough Presbyterian Church in Briarcliff, NY, from 1993 to 2005. Chris has a bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University, a M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. from Union Theological Seminary. A prolific writer, he has been a frequent contributor to “Church and Society” magazine. Other publications include chapters in “The Church’s Public Role” and “Reformed Faith and Economics.”
