Sea Shepherd Conservation Society On the night of June 30th 2009 the commercial tuna boat Don Mario, from the fishing port of Manta in Ecuador, was caught fishing inside the Galapagos Marine Reserve. At the time of capture the vessel was 30 miles inside the protected waters of the National Park and had its nets out in the water. Inside their nets the National Park Rangers discovered not only tuna but also numerous other species including sea turtles.

What if there was no Sea Shepherd Conservation Society? Would anyone else try to stop the cruelty? Does Greenpeace do anything? I contacted them re the seal slaughter in Canada, and someone told me that Greenpeace has not been out on the ice in 20 years. Why?

Because they have become something very different to what the public thinks they are. I don't like putting shit on Greenpeace or any other organization because I don't have enough knowledge to make those kinds of judgements, but from what I can see, Sea Shepherd is certainly the cause to get behind if actual action and results are what you want to see.

What they should be doing is clubbing and skining the fruits that are going after the seals not wasting tax payer dollars on people who want to save an ecosystem and a species!

All our support to our true family, the crew of the Sea Shepard who are out there having to see such horrific violence and are our true hero's to defend our ocean friends.
Sea Shepherd Conservation Society Every year the International Whaling Commission brings up the issue of Safety at Sea despite the fact that the IWC has no jurisdiction, authority or expertise regarding this issue. Japan maintains that the activities of SSCS pose a threat to the safety of Japanese whalers. In addition, Greenpeace has been condemning SSCS citing our actions pose a dangerous threat to the whalers. The facts however speak for themselves

greenpeace is great for spreading awareness and does well at this.good on you guys, keep it up. . but in terms of protecting the vulnerable they have been described as the 'Avon Ladies' of conservation. Japanese whalers would snigger at them, but not at the sea shepherds.
