Seattle Sketcher

Seattle Sketcher I did a quick sketch at the procession for slain police officer this morning.

Seattle Sketcher

Seattle Sketcher The weather has been nice to sketch outside during my first 6 months as a newspaper blogger. Now I better buy some new fingerless gloves!

Seattle Sketcher I did some "sketch-terviews" asking people how they felt about today's elections.

Source: blog.seattletimes.nwsource.com
I took my sketchbook to the streets of downtown Seattle to do some interviews. Or you may call them "sketch-terviews." My completely non-scientific sample of voters and non-voters follows below. Only about ...

Seattle Sketcher Who needs a watch when there are clocks like this one on the street.

Seattleite Olivia Tarr took interest in my drawing as I leaned up against a light pole and sketched this view. I told her about my 'where's the sketcher' Friday blog posts -- see previous ones here and ...

Seattle Sketcher If you ran for mayor, what would your campaign sign look like?

Source: blog.seattletimes.nwsource.com
You can always count on me for an opinion on design and urban aesthetics. I actually kicked off my sketcher feature in the paper with some ranting about the ugliness along Aurora Avenue.

Seattle Sketcher A timeless interview with Chief Seattle by my Times colleague Bill Kossen.

He's heard all the complaints — the city's growing too fast, it's gotten too big, too noisy, too expensive, too full of uppity outsiders...

Rob Earshot Jazz festival might offer a good sketching subject?

Ryan Sales

Ryan Sales Suggestion for Saturday, October 24th: Sounders FC final game vs FC Dallas is having the usual March to the Match at 6:00. Game is 7:30. But in Occidental Park, 1 block N of Elliott Bay Bookstore, where the march starts, the celebration is expected to be bigger than usual with the team making the playoffs. Truly a fan of your wonderful Seattle area sketches.
