I am a believer-- do a standing Fred Meyer and Starbucks order every week for my weekly shopping and my morning latte!! What's nice is the Eagle's will auto charge my credit card each week and send it home in Megan's school folder-- It was a one time set up and now it works like a charm!

if you have not ultilized the gift card program in the Eagle's nest, now is a great time. And like Rachel says, you do not pay a dime more that you would with any other gift card purchase but this way Adams gets the % proceeds!!

:) A great way to help the school and help with your shopping needs!... See More

Adams Elementary School PTA Hey Adams parents! Seattle mag (full disclosure: I am editor) just did a really cool story on this amazing program the Tacoma Museum of Glass has. They turn your kid's drawing into a glass art sculpture --they make two copies: one for your kid and one for the museum. Check out the pictures! ---Rachel Rios

Adams Elementary School PTA "EXPLORATIONS IN MATH" FEATURED ON CITYSTREAM THIS WEEK (THURS, DEC 3 AT 7 P.M. ON THE SEATTLE CHANNEL, CABLE 21). This week on CityStream, Jeff Gentes reports on Seattle non-profit Explorations in Math’s work to make math fun and accessible for elementary school children.
First stop: MathFest, the largest math event ...in Seattle. It’s kind of a game show cum festival of numeration held in the Rainier Community Center. This year, over 800 children, parents, teachers and volunteers attended the event designed to develop children’s interest in mathematics.

Explorations in Math Executive Director Stephanie Cherrington says there is a real math crisis in Washington state where only 45 percent of 10th graders can pass the WASL (Washington Assessment of Student Learning) math test required for high school graduation. Her solution? “More math but in engaging, fun and creative ways.” She explains, “One of the key elements in being successful in math is having the opportunity to practice math."

Next stop: the Dearborn Park Elementary school’s Explorations in Math Club. Teacher Andy Russell has sixty kids signed up and a waiting list of 25 others for his afterschool program that explores mathematics in exciting and creative ways. See how you can learn logic using popsicle sticks!

Adams Elementary School PTA EARLY REGISTRATION FOR 2010‐11: DEADLINE EXTENDED!
Students who will be new to SPS in September 2010 can register until January 15, 2010. Early Registration will not have any impact on a child's school assignment for next year; however, the district is encouraging families who will have a new student entering Seattle Pu...blic Schools next year to participate in the early registration process. This will help the district plan better for next year’s initial implementation of the New Student Assignment Plan, and families will get information about next year's assignments sooner. New students who register by January 15 will receive information in February about assignments for 2010‐11. More information can be found at: http://www.seattleschools.org/area/eso/earlyreg.html.

www.seattleschools.org
A new student assignment plan will go into effect for September 2010, beginning with entry grade students. Students will receive an initial assignment based on where they live. Students may also apply to attend another school during Open Enrollment next spring (March 2010).
