Shadow's biggest disappointment was having their Hanoi Rocks opening slot in Vancouver, BC canceled because of Razzle's death (from Vince Neil's drunk driving accident). A couple of years later, Mike and the Shadow guys stayed on our couch in North Hollywood when they were down visiting. I was pretty surprised a few years later when Pearl Jam exploded onto the scene in the wake of Andrew Wood's death with Mike in the lineup. Their first show in Hollywood was using the name Mookie Blaylock.

I loved their EP "Surface Tension".

I think you are right, that looks like the golf course, either that or one of the VFW-type halls in that area. They recorded Surface Tension at my studio on a 1/4 inch 8-track machine & monitor mixer.
