Gathering Magic

My criticism of Magic is that 90% of the fun (and 'complexity' and 'depth') are in deck-building, as opposed to the actual playing. Once your decks are made and your matchup begins, the outcome pretty much becomes a matter of luck, without a lot of autonomy in the hands of the player on how to proceed. The game can still be fun, but it's a lesser... Read More experience. Playing on xbox for instance isn't especially compelling because there's no deck creation involved. Contrast that with SW where deck building and in-game strategy play equal parts, and magic falls short, but enough beating of that dead horse :) Just my 2c

luck plays a part but making the right plays and decisions too.
do you think that players who constantly, and i stress the word CONSTANTLY get tops 8's out of luck? impossible
