- A non-profit, volunteer run animal rescue organization based in Edmonton and Athabasca, Alberta.
- Mission:
- SCARS provides veterinary care and foster homes for animals left abandoned in Northern Alberta.
We also work to promote responsible pet ownership, the importance of spaying and neutering, and community awareness.
Our society does not currently receive funding; therefore, we rely solely on money that is raised through memberships, donations, sponsorships and other fundraising efforts. Because we have no paid staff and use private homes for fostering, we can only take in as many animals as our resources will allow.
