Like many other religious groups, Wiccans have a tradition of giving thanks in connection with the harvest season, said the Rev. Selena Fox, of Circle Sanctuary, a Wiccan church near Barneveld.

I have lots of family in Madison but I am kinda stuck here in TN..wish I could have been there. I so appreciate all that you do esp to promote understanding of alternative spiritual paths..that is really needed here in the South as you can imagine. Blessed Be.

Kevin Hi. The video of you on my youtube site www.youtube.com/kevthewitch is attracting a for and against debate about using a site that used to be an Indian worship site. Lets face it all belief systems continue to worship on once used sites as it 'keeps them alive' for future generations. It is the place that has the Power.

Thanks for letting me know about this. Many sacred places, including Circle Sanctuary Nature Preserve have had different peoples using the land in sacred ways over the ages.

Selena Fox Did more work on the Bonfire Woodpile for the Hogmanay (Scottish New Year or Scottish Yule, depending on your religious preference). Do you celebrate Hogmanay as part of your Winter Solstice activities?

I celebrate Hogmanay as part of my Winter Solstice festivities. We kindle a great bonfire in a clearing in the forest. We also sing the well-known Hogmanay song -- For Auld Lang Syne (words by Scottish poet Robert Burns 1788). Many people in the USA & elsewhere sing that song without knowing its roots in Hogmanay. On all the Eve's we eat seafood (custom from my Italian partner), we have the 'feast of the 7 fishes,' have a bonfire, and toast the new year with mead - may our first taste be sweet and rich to last throughout the year. I don't know why, but I always feel Yule on the 22nd as opposed to any other date.

It was a wonderful "presentation" I would use the word lecture but to me that makes it sound boring and you are anything but boring! I love your energy! You are a great speaker. You spoke to my soul.
