I have been following the activities of the SLDN and the DADT repeal low process since my discharge in 05 and i have to say this is the most promising news ive heard in the whole time
Kelly at 8:37pm June 30
I was encouraged as well by what I heard yesterday, and then I saw this: http://www.thedailybeast.c om/blogs-and-stories/2009- 06-04/the-surprising-holdo uts-on-dont-ask-dont-tell/ .... I find it really disappointing that one of the organizations that is supposed to be fighting for LGBT people in uniform to be able to stay in uniform might be using ... change never happens quickly within the military, even if it is obviously sensible change. but it will happen - the percentage of military folks who support DADT is declining rapidly!

Tens of thousands denied the right to serve, or expelled despite exemplary service... while hundreds of thousands don't even consider the possibility. Service is real. Bumper stickers, car magnets and flag pins are (mostly) for show -- I don't want to insult those who actually have served or do serve AND have a car magnet!

Finally, the New York Times editorial board weighed in on "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." We agree with the paper's analysis of the legal ramifications of Monday's Supreme Court decision: "not much of a legal setback." We also think the White House should consider all options currently on the table,...

SCOTUS essentially allowed the administration to avoid defending in court a policy it hopes to change... or at least we HOPE it hopes to change.

If we don't have federal marriage and full military rights by 2012, I'm sitting out the election. If this guy won't help us, we have no candidate to support.

Basically if you look at states like New Hampshire, we've now got Republicans who are willing to do more than this President on our issues. Look at the polling on DADT. Even evangelicals and conservatives support our right to serve...but Obama doesn't. He used us.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Barack Obama's campaign promise to scrap the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy gave Lt. Col. Victor Fehrenbach hope. Now the aviator is wondering if the president will deliver in time to save his 18-year Air Force career.
