The LA Shorts Fest is now entering its 12th year as an Academy accredited Festival. We have a proud history, 30 of our festival shorts have received Oscar nominations, including 9 winners. Because the Festival attracts the best up-and-coming young directors and writers, we have embarked on an ambitious program of tale...nt discovery development.

The Festival will feature a select few directors/writers from the creative community whom we feel show promise in the entertainment industry, based on their films and projects (scripts, treatments, story ideas etc.) in development. The Festival will then invite industry professionals to meet these fortunate directors/writers, who will have a rare opportunity to introduce themselves and their projects to you and your company. Founded in 1999, the Newport Beach Film Festival has evolved into a prestigious multicultural event, attracting over 40,000 attendees to Orange County. Since its inception, the Festival has presented many acclaimed films such as the U.S. Premiere of Crash and other notable films including Waitress, Son of Rambow, Papr...ika, Broken English, The King of Kong, Layer Cake, The Illusionist, Art School Confidential, Emmanuel's Gift, Mad Hot Ballroom, Dogtown and Z Boys, Castle in the Sky, Born into Brothels, Pieces of April, Sexy Beast, as well as anniversary screenings of classics such as The French Connection, Sunset Boulevard, The Outsiders and Endless Summer.
