Sheila Roberts One week till Christmas!

Sheila Roberts Midweek slump? How about calling someone you haven't seen or talked to in a while and saying hi? This is a great time of year to spread comfort and joy!

Sheila Roberts Did you know?... That you can put in a request to your library to buy that hot new book you're dying to read? Sooo, if you're a library patron and too broke to buy "Angel Lane" see if your local library will purchase a copy. There's your money-saving tip for the day :)

Sheila Roberts I just discovered that Julia mentioned my new all-time fav Christmas movie (right after "It's a Wonderful Life" of course.) I'ts "The Family Man" with Nicholas Cage. Well worth watching this weekend! Julia, you have excellent taste!

Sheila Roberts Happy Friday everyone. Who has fun holiday plans? I'm going to be judging fruitcake in Port Gamble (WA) as part of their annual holiday festival. Then at three p.m. I'll be over at Dauntless Books with Susan Wiggs, Mary Guterson, and Carol Cassella signing copies of Angel Lane. If you're wanting a fun day of shopping come see me :)

Here's an easy holiday recipe for you (from Angel Lane):
Holiday Turtles
One bag Rollo candies, one small (16 oz) bag small, knotted pretzels, one med bag (6oz) pecans. Lay out pretzels on an ungreased cookie sheet. Put an unwrapped candy on each. Put in oven at 250 for 4 minutes. Take out and top each with a pecan. (Pre...ss in lightly) Put in fridge to harden for 3 minutes. (Don't leave 'em in fridge. Don't ask me why not. I dunno :) ) For more recipes visit www.sheilasplace.com For great holiday recipes - oh, you know what's coming next - buy a copy of Angel Lane or On Strike for Christmas. You'll get a read and some gooood food out of the deal :)

Sheila Roberts Thanks to Miralee for pointing out that I actually need to get permission from Facebook to have contests, even when no purchases are involved. So, I'm off to cross my t's and dot my i's. Until I get that all figured out we'll move future contests to my web site :)

Sheila Roberts By the way... congrats to Linda who won a free Sheila book. That white lemon fudge with coconut is to die for. Okay, back to sharing movies!
