Shimmer is a Gauteng based studio whose emphasis is on the love of the artform. From beginner to professional, everyone is welcome. All dancers are trained to maximise their own abilities whilst having fun in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Shimmer is affiliated with the Belly Dancing Association of South Africa [and the SADTA], and their newly-initiated "grade" system is offered for any interested dancers, alongside open classes for women simply looking to enjoy themselves. We are also associated with international association MEDACA

Shimmer offers tuition in both traditional and fusion styles. Training in veil, cane and zills is offered, as well as sword, fire [gloves, candles, arcs and sticks], Wings of Isis, cloak and dagger, and tray for the advanced dancer .

Workshops and "specialized" lessons are also offered [on enquiry]. Solo and group shows are welcome.
