Shiner GASP Come join us at Jack and Adam's Bicycles for the GASP kick off party and start celebrating 100 years of Shiner Beer! Food from the Shiner Smokehouse, music and of course ice cold Shiner Beer.

If you have questions about the ride, the event director will be on hand to answer them. We'll also have lots of giveaways so... come out, enjoy yourself, sign up for the ride and start the celebration!

Don't forget, the Great Austin to Shiner Pedal is May 2nd, 2009 and will be 100 miles to celebrate 100 years!

the support volunteers were very positive and helpful. Thank you and kudos to all of them for spending a VERY long day with us -- I was 10.5 hours in the saddle and they were still along the way cheering us on! Bravo to all of them!

i'd never been on my bike more than 12 miles, and by god I crossed the finish line on my bike with no walking and no help!! I'm so excited!! What a great event... I hurt EVERYWHERE --- but can't wait to do it again next year. I crossed the finish line at 4:45

Shiner GASP The terrain in general is gently rolling. There are a couple of moderate climbs, but it's all relative. The thing to consider will be the wind.

Shiner GASP The new route should be posted very soon. We've found some good roads south of Flatonia to help bump the mileage up.

We are avoiding the section to which you're referring north of Flatonia, but there will still be a short stretch of it with the new route.

Highway 95 is not that bad, I've ridden on it lots of times. The chip seal is a bit jarring but I run wide tires at lower pressure and it helps smooth things out a lot.
