Hi Everyone -
Well this past week has been very busy, but lots of fun as the campaign as been gaining speed! Only two days left until Election Day (May 12) and I have been out and about in the community encouraging as many people as possible to get out and vote to Keep BC Strong.

On Thursday, the Prince George Construction Association hosted a Tailgate party with Premier Gordon Campbell as the guest of honour. A huge crowd gathered to hear the Premier speak, enjoy time with their friends and family, and enjoy dinner together. The live band and huge heavy-duty equipment set the mood for the eving, as people rallied together in anticipation of another 4 years of a great leadership. Thanks to Roz and everyone at the PG Construction Association that made the Tailgate Party a HUGE success!

A couple other events I attended this weekend were the May Day Parade and the Relay for Life. The Relay for Life was yet again a touching experience to see so many people walking for loved ones who were lost to cancer, or who are struggling to fight cancer today. Thank you to my team who joined me on the Bell-Bond Float in the Parade and also participated in the Relay for Life - we were able to raise a large sum of money to donate to cancer research. Thanks everyone for your love and support.

Remember to get out and vote on Tuesday if you haven't already!

Hi Everyone -

I just wanted to give you a little update on what I have been up to during these past few days of the election. It has been great to see so many of your smiling faces out in the community and inside my campaign office.

Recently, I attended the CNC/NUGSS student-organized All-Candidates Forum. I thought it went really well, with lots of great questions asked. This All-Candidates Forum was only one of 7 forums I have attended during the campaign period. I have also attended various town hall meetings, even out as far as Willow River! These forums and town hall meetings can be tough, because I know there will always be some difficult questions to answer. However, I also enjoy the opportunity to publicly speak about the progress the BC Liberals have made for the North in the past 8 years. I think these forums also give members of our community the opportunity to see the personalities and public speaking abilities of their candidates, which helps them make their decision on Election Day.

I have made many trips to the Robson Valley in the last 8 years as MLA and I always enjoy the people I get to visit with in the rural area of my constituency. Yesterday, I went to Valemount and spent time visiting people on main street. I met many new smiling faces, as well as ran into some long-time friends. My next stop was McBride, where I attended a tea party hosting by my friend, who I fondly call Grandma Eva. She made a beautiful spread of homemade desserts and fresh fruit, as well as different kinds of tea and coffee. Grandma Eva invited members some of her friends to meet me, which gave me the opportunity to answer some of the questions McBride residents had about issues that are important to them.

These last 5 days of the election are important - our focus now is to encourage people to GET OUT AND VOTE! So if you have not yet voted in the advanced polls, I encourage you to do so! The advanced polls are May 6-9, so grab your Elections BC card you received in the mail and get down to your polling station.

The PG Construction Association is hosting a fabulous event tonight - a Tailgate Party! It is at 5:30pm at the Roll-A-Dome (inside if it rains). Hope to see many of you there! It is a family event open to everyone.

Thanks again for your support!
