Amy Picardi Moore

Amy Picardi Moore I am glad to find this place, where others are in my situation. I am 33yrs old and am 32 weeks along with full placenta previa. I have 3 other children 11,8,7 and it's so hard being away from them for so long. I have been in the hospital for 8 days already and have many more to go. because of where they are keeping me ...I am only allowed 2 visiters and they can't be switched off with others and my children are not allowed to visit the hospital at all. So I am pretty lonely...

Shannon

Shannon Hi ladies! Just a short intro. I am 32 yrs old and 20 weeks pregnant. This is my 4th pregnancy. My husband and I have a handsome 12 yr old boy and a beautiful 16 month old daughter. We also have a 2 yr old angel in Heaven. I am now on bedrest for the duration of my pregnancy. Pregnancy induced hypertension, incompeten...t cervix (I have a cerclage in place) and have been having frequent dizzy / fainting spells. Hope to find some great support here!! I spent a majority of my last pregnancy on bedrest so I know what to expect..doesn't make it any easier though!

Welcome, Shannon! Glad you've joined us. This is a great place for support and encouragement. I'm expecting my 4th boy (8th preganancy), and have been on bed rest since 10/30 @ 18 1/2 weeks. I saw on your profile that you homeschool your kiddos. We are planning to start homeschooling next fall, when my boys will be 3rd grade, 1st grade, and Kindergarten. Would love any words of wisdom you'd care to pass along (especially since we'll also have a new baby to care for then!)

Demetria Hey Bedrest Mamas! Found an article today that offers tips on surviving bedrest. Most of us are probably already doing these things, but if you need some ideas, check it out: http://www.parents.com/pregnancy/my-life/bed-rest/survival-supplies/?ordersrc=rdab0113

What I'd like is a sort of rotating table/file cabinet/Lazy Susan type storage unit that would actually hold EVERYTHING I need. Then I would just spin, turn, flip or whatever to find something. I probably have way too much stuff near me, since I'm doing bookkeeping on my laptop, but there are still SO many things I'd like to have handy! It will be nice not to have to keep everything next to my bed or my recliner after the baby is born! : )

Ha! That would be nice :) I am pretty spoiled to have nearly a room to myself since my husband works nights. We only share the bed 2 nights/week; the rest of the week he sleeps during the day at his parent's house. So, I have all kinds of stuff spread out during the week. It gets a little crazy when my kids come in my room since everything is ... See Moreat their level (they're 4 and 21 months). I certainly miss mobility, and I am looking forward to the chaos of having another newborn around. It will be so nice to get around and get things done again, especially getting my own snacks from the kitchen LOL!

Kristi Just wanted to say how thankful I am for all the amazing ladies who share their struggles and hopes with each other here. My local friends have brought me meals and helped with my boys, but YOU ladies understand my frustrations, fears, successes, and hopes. What a blessing to be a part of this community. Truly an an...swer to my prayers! Praying that all of you have a wonderful new year as we count our blessings (how far along we are) and count down to the birth of our children!

Jennifer

Jennifer Hello! This looks like a great group! I am 22 6/7 weeks pregnant with twins, and I've been on hospital bed rest with pre-term labor and a short and dynamic cervix, for 2 weeks. I will probably be in the hospital for the duration. Anybody else like me? Or with an encouraging story to share?

Hi Kristi! Believe it or not, even at 2 and 3lbs (& collapsed lungs, brain hemmorhage etc) they were only in the hospital for 43 days. They are truly miracle babies. I agree with you about knowing early that this baby will possibly come early as well and therefore being prepared.
I am currently 17 weeks pregnant with a singleton and on home ... See Morebed rest since my cerclage was placed at 15 weeks. It's been really tough following doctor's orders since I have 3 children that are aching for my attention (I have 7 year old boy/girl twins and a 19 year old college boy)

Demetria 33 weeks, 4 days today. So happy to have made it this far...it seemed so distant in September when preterm labor began. Been having contractions on and off the last few days despite the terb. Hoping to make it a few more weeks so baby will not be in the NICU. However, each day that goes by now is one less day she'l...l have to spend there. Keep those babies growing, ladies!!! :)

Congrats on 33 1/2 weeks - having had one of my boys at 28 weeks, I'd say you're on the home stretch! Guess you'll be ready for getting up in the night for feedings since you're already up so often. : ) Hang in there - you are a SUPER MOM!

Leslie Greenberg Loaiza

Leslie Greenberg Loaiza Sorry I haven't posted to anyone in a while. I've been kind of depressed being on bedrest and worrying. Everything is stable with me, saw the Peri last week and my cervix is still long without funneling, both babies are measuring a week to two weeks ahead, BUT, she said, when I start to funnel, I will go fast and we h...ave to keep our fingers crossed my stitch HOLDS. I was 16 wks when measured, and my fundal height is that of someone carrying a singleton between 22-24 wks. I'm big. And that's alot of weight on my cervix already. I'm so worried and scared to death I'm not even going to make it to 24 wks when these babies are viable. I'm trying to take it one day at a time, but when I wake up in the morning, I'm terrified of what lays ahead for that day.

Running errands and talking on the phone,
I am pleasantly reminded that I am not alone.
Little tiny hands a precious rounded knee
pushing and twisting that no one can see.
Oh sweet child kicking up your heels,
it is our little secret that only I can feel.
I look forward to your birth,
whe...n I can kiss your skin,
but for now I will just smile,
As I feel you play within

Put some rice or dry uncooked beans in a tube sock. Tie the top off. Warm in microwave for about 2 minutes, shake, and place on area. Cheap practical emergency heating pad!

I have insulin resistance and take Metformin for it. I am on a special diet (same as the one for gest. diabetes). Go with high protein, low carb foods like chicken, beef, salads, veggies etc. Watch out for "white" stuff like white flour, white potatoes (sweet potatoes are better), white rice, sugar etc... good luck! there are a lot of good recipes online :)
