Signed By Force is a Montreal based label founded by Semprini Records owner Ramachandra Borcar. He figured that running one label wasn't enough so why not double the headache. Having been the drummer of 80's cult hardcore band Hazy Azure, his love for punk, heavy rock, metal and psychedelic weirdness never wore off. Thus, a new label was created to cater to his fondness of true rock n' roll in it's heaviest, rawest and dirtiest forms. The label started out with three simultaneous releases of the newest material from Montreal’s Bionic and Starvin Hungry along with the debut album from Trigger Effect. With the latest signings of No No Zero and Fiftywatthead the label has proven that Canada is still a breeding ground for new acts pushing the envelope of heavy rock. Signed By Force does not however restrict itself to releasing only new material, our respect for past innovation is also of importance to us and 2008 will be the springboard for a series of compilations and reissues of rare material from Canada’s heavy past.
