Too bad!! however that statement is too hard, what I learned that most of the time the users make that happened making honest mistakes. I wished you would have had the right help at that time. Happy sewing, happy stitching anyway.

Christina I got my CE-200 when I had Windows XP, and installed the then-current version of Futura on that particular computer (a laptop)...I downloaded that same version onto a Vista laptop (the other one crashed 18 months ago), and am trying to download it onto my new Windows 7-based laptop.

Sherri Pickett Singers are the only machines I own! My favorite, besides my Futura CE 200, is my Singer Slant o Matic 501A. I think this machine was made in 1956. This machine is a work horse and I use it to make all of my slipcovers. It will sew through a huge thickness! Singer makes the BEST!

Judi I am thinking about purchasing the Singer Curvy 8780........just wondering if anyone has one and the pros and cons. I want it for craft type sewing, simple garments, curtains, heming (maybe jeans if it will handle that) and am considering taking a quilting class. Those are my needs...........if anyone can recommend a... different one that would be super too.........my budget is about $400........Costco is selling the 8780 for $379 right now. Thanks.............

Hi Judi - Katie B. here with SINGER and this is my personal opinion. I actually own an 8780 for my personal sewing projects at home. I love it. It has tons of cool decorative stitches, can handle hemming denim and has a programmable needle up/down for quilting. The 8780 also boasts the easiest threading system to date so changing thread is a snap. ... See MoreI've had mine for about a year and sew on it about twice a week (mostly home dec stuff but have made a skirt and hemmed pants). I've been very pleased. I hope this helps... Cheers!

Sherri--- Katie B. here again... Although we do not have plans to produce software for the Futura specifically for MACs, I did find out some interesting news:

1. FUTURA will work fine using one of the following programs: ‘Parallel’s desktop’ or ‘Fusion’. We recommend ‘Fusion’ . These programs retail at approximately $50.00

2. This however only applies to the latest models of Apple PC’s that incorporate an Intel based processor – will not work for older models that have a ‘RISC’ processor model – as these emulation software applications are not designed for ‘RISC’ processors (Apple made the switch exactly two years ago, so any model after that time would be OK).... See More

3. Customer must also purchase Windows based software to load on to their MAC computers. This is where it can get a little bit expensive, as the software can retail at around $200.00.

I hope this helps!
