Calling All Interested Volunteers to gather at 8 a.m. at Focus Hope Central Warehouse, 6500 East Davison, Detroit, to help pack boxes and deliver them to our senior citizens for this upcoming holiday

The SocialLinkDetroit team has enjoyed our time with you all. The numerous events we have held have given us a chance to make new friends and bring some variety to your nightlife. As we close out the year, this particular event takes on a more important nature. SLD will be working with Focus Hope of Detroit during thei...r Special Holiday Food Delivery drive. On this day we will be helping pack food boxes and deliver them to senior citizens around the Metro Detroit area.
SLD recognizes there is a time and a place for everything. Not only do we desire to bring you unique fun activities, we also believe it’s our duty as fortunate citizens to give back to those who need it. If you are free on this Saturday morning we ask you to come out and help us put some smiles on some faces this holiday season!
EARLY ARRIVAL IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED!!!! YOU MUST ARRIVE EARLY TO DELIVER FOOD BOXES!!!
Delivery is on a first come first serve basis. Those who arrive first will be given a route to take, boxes to deliver and a map to use. You will use your own car/truck to make the drop offs.
Those who do not or decline to actually drop off the boxes will be asked to pack up the food boxes at the warehouse. This task should take about 2hrs.
Also once you spread some Christmas cheer, please meet us at the Detroit Breakfast House (1241 Woodward Ave.) immediately after so we can chat about the wonderful experiences we had.

Special Holiday Food Delivery
Saturday, December 12
Join us on December 12 when volunteers will fan out to make a special holiday food delivery to senior citizens who participate in our food program. Volunteers will gather at 8 a.m. at our Central Warehouse, 6500 East Davison, Detroit, to finish packing boxes of food and set out to deliver them.
The holiday food boxes are in addition to the box of nutritionally-balanced food that low income seniors get each month. The special delivery is made possible by numerous food drives conducted by churches, schools and businesses each year.
Seniors will be selected at random from the nearly 1,000 homebound seniors on our program. Arrangements will be made in advance to assure that the seniors are aware of the delivery.
