On November 1st, the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) Board will receive a draft of the Regional Assessment for “Plan 2040,” ARC’s current regional planning process. Plan 2040 is the first comprehensive transportation and development plan that ARC has undertaken in at least a decade. While substantial progress has ...been made in the region through local government greenspace protection, Livable Centers Initiative studies and innovative new development, the Atlanta region continues to have major problems and some real opportunities.

At the November 6th Roundtable, attendees will receive the first public presentation and opportunity to comment on issues identified through the Plan 2040. Tom Weyandt will address the region’s issues and how participants might be involved at many levels – neighborhood, local and regional. This “State of the Region” presentation will be an important look at the current and future issues facing Atlanta. Subsequent Plan 2040 documents will address transportation projects and programs to bring about more sustainable growth.

Tom Weyandt, Director of Comprehensive Planning, Atlanta Regional Commission
