The Southold Historical Society was founded in 1960 to "promote interest in and education about the history of Southold, NY." Today the Society preserves over 25,000 objects and documents that record the rich history of our region of New York State.

The Southold Historical Society will host its annual Candlelight Tour at the Museum grounds on the Main Road opposite the Firehouse on Friday November 27, 2009 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. All buildings will be decorated for the holiday season and open to the public. Farm and home craft demonstrations will take place in the ...various buildings, strolling musicians will be on the grounds, Santa will be visiting, and refreshments will be served. The annual tree lighting at 5:00 p.m. will be accompanied by caroling led by the Southold High School Chorus Ensemble. No admission charge, donations accepted. Read More

Come and enjoy amazing ice cream, hayrides, children’s games, tours, face painting, live music, and other great activities. Including the Montauk Historical Society, Montauk Point Lighthouse and Museum, Huntington Lighthouse Preservation Society, Fire Island Lighthouse Preservation Society, The L...ong Island Chapter of the US Lighthouse Society, East End Seaport Museum and Marine Foundation, Southold Historical Society, and Horton Point Lighthouse and Nautical Museum. The Society's spring exhibition will open to the public on Saturday, April 4th 2009. The show will feature a selection of of historic images form the famous North Fork summer camp "Pinecrest Dunes." The photographs will include images from every decade of the camps long history (1931-1970). Located in the Ann Currie...-Bell House's Mayne Gallery, the show will be open Saturdays and Sundays, 1-4pm through June 7th, 2009.
