Spent Saturday morning in Rapid City at the Black Hills Arena Racing indoor motocross shooting the qualifying races. This is an exciting indoor motocross series held once a month through the winter at the Rapid City Fairgrounds. I only made it to the qualifying heats this month, but hopefully in December I will be ab...le to make it to the final races in the evening. Boys Junior League Basketball has started! I spent Saturday morning shooting the 1st & 2nd grade games at West Elementary, and the entertainment value of these games was pretty high! There were several times when I had to remind myself to take pictures because I had put my camera down to watch the little guys! Thompson Photography On October 30, I photographed the marriage of Ken and Nancee at the Celebrity Hotel in Deadwood, South Dakota. They were just passing through and wanted to get married in the Deadwood area, and Jerry Dunn of Deadwood Wedding Services took care of all of the details for the intimate ceremony they were looking for.
Thompson Photography After rescheduling a couple of times due to the weather, we were lucky enough to get the one absolutely perfect day for R.J.'s senior pictures. It think it was the first time I was dressed too warm for a shoot all year! I am glad we got them done, because the snow and rain came the next day!

There have been many times when I have told other photographers that I have started photographing weddings, and it seems like one of the most common comments I get back is, "Oh, how boring. I would NEVER do weddings!". It seems like photographers either love weddings or absolutely hate them. But I can honestly say i...f the photographers who hated photographing weddings got to start out with a wedding couple like Bryan and Gina, their view of weddings would be permanently changed! Although Bryan is an accomplished photographer, and I was EXTREMELY nervous about shooting a photographer's wedding, he and Gina put me at ease right away, and they were a fabulous couple to work with, as was the entire wedding party and family!Devamı

Had a great time Saturday morning doing my first team shoot. With the help of Alyssa, we photographed 46 girls and their coaches from the Spearfish Junior Basketball League. It was our first time, so we had a few glitches to work out - like not bringing extra order forms - but all in all everything went very smooth a...nd we are ready to do it again next Saturday! On Sunday, October 4, I met with Krysia and Justin in Spearfish Canyon for their engagement shoot. The thermometer said 30 degrees F, the wind was blowing about 30 mph when I left Spearfish, and it was either raining or snowing while driving down the canyon, but we were hoping the canyon would block the wind and we wo...uld have good conditions to get some pictures taken. Our teeth were doing some chattering by the time we were done, but the light was perfect, and the cold weather made for some great snuggling conditions for an engagement shoot!Devamı

Thompson Photography Time for varsity volleyball with the Spearfish Spartans vs Stevens Raiders! I have several book orders for Spearfish volleyball, so this game was focused mainly on the Spearfish players.
