The books (at least the first two that I have read) are surprisingly good stories. They do not warrant the cult status they are achieving, but I can see why the "groupies" that so fanatical get so much from the book. Maybe it's because I am a 44 yr old married man and not an average looking 12 yr old girl that has never been kissed.
