I saw this movie at its encore screening in Colorado in May. Strangely, although most of the theatres in which it was shown had sold out, the one I was in was practically empty. I chatted with the other viewers before the movie started, to see how many had run marathons: I've run three; nobody else there had run any but one person was starting to train for one and some others had run a couple halfs.

I was pulled into this movie immediately. I particularly liked the way the film covered both elite athletes Deena Kastor and Daniel Njenga and "regular" folks, including two first-timers! The stories are inspirational, and you can't help walking away from this movie feeling like lacing up your running shoes. The music is particularly effective, and so is the actual press coverage of the 2005 Chicago Marathon.

Anyone who has run or is considering or training to run a full or half marathon should own this movie.
