The Tandana Foundation is preparing for an incredible volunteer vacation in Mali, starting January 16. The village of Kansongho cannot wait for the group to arrive.

Happy Holidays and thank you for being a friend to The Tandana
Foundation! In 2009, Tandana was able to offer scholarships to 47 rural
Ecuadorian students to continue their secondary education - an increase of 74%
over last year. We also provided
free English and math courses to 80 students during their summer vacation.
W...e were also able to create a grain bank for the village of
Kansongho, Mali. We stocked it
with millet and rice, which was sold at a constant price year-round so that the
villagers could afford to purchase it when they ran out of their own
supplies. The proceeds will be
used to restock the bank after the harvest when market prices are lowest. The two school gardens we funded have
provided students with money for chalk, pens, notebooks, and other supplies.
We are proud of these successes, but there is much more to be
