On Tuesday, November 17th, the YMCA Office sponsored a program entitled "What I did with my summer vacation." This program showcases students who completed their required internship for both their major and the YMCA minor. The internship typically takes place the summer of a students junior year in a YMCA other than wh…ere they have been in the past to provide a new and unique experience. This year we had three presentations from very diverse experiences. Bill Wockenfuss (Youth Development) interned at the Silver Bay YMCA Association on Lake George in the Adirondacks of New York. Natalie Flores (Criminal Justice) spent the summer with the Bronx Branch YMCA which is part of the YMCA of Greater New York. Michelle Grindle crossed the Atlantic Ocean and had a highly unique experience in northern England at the YMCA Lakeside National Centre. Lakeside is the largest of two YMCA camps in England positioned on Lake Windermere in the lake district. The YMCA Office works closely with the partnering academic departments to ensure a meaningful and successful experience which will provide a practical experience for learning more about the programs of the sponsoring agency along with a strong exposure to the business practices of the organization.Подробнее
