This week’s “Monday Mystery Memory!”--- It was a special year for Missouri State cross country and track and field as the Lady Bears took the Missouri Valley Conference Triple Crown. During the fall the cross country team won the MVC title with Casey Owens winning the individual title and three others making the all-MVC team. During the indoor and outdoor seasons MSU won the MVC titles on the strength of 12 MVC individual champions and 25 all-MVC performances.

It was 2005 and this Missouri State Outstanding Female Athlete of The Year recipient and two-time all-American added to her incredible collegiate accomplishments by running to a ninth-place finish in the 10,000 meters at the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. With her performance she rewrote her own school record with a time 33:32.51 to finish as the top collegiate runner at the USA Championship 10K. Her time is still the MSU record, Missouri Valley Conference record and state of Missouri collegiate record.
